The Many Benefits of Home Care
No one plans to get injured or sick but have you thought about what would happen if you did? Would you need therapy services to get stronger, or nursing to help you care for yourself and provide education on a new diagnosis? Many older adults don’t even know there are services available to help them in their home after an illness, injury, or surgery. Some of these services are even covered by your Medicare insurance.
A little planning ahead encourages a smoother recovery, and knowing what services are available provides you and your family with ultimate peace of mind. To qualify for home care services you need to meet 3 requirements:
- You have an order for home care from your doctor.
- You require intermittent skilled services (nursing, physical, occupational or speech therapy).
- You have difficulty leaving your home and require extra assistance when you do leave.
If you meet all of these criteria, Medicare will pay for your home care services.
Porter Hills Home Care has been providing home care services to West Michigan’s older adults for over 16 years. Our nurses have years of experience caring for clients with heart issues, wounds, I.V. antibiotics, mental health issues and so much more. If assistance is required with showers or baths while you are on home care services, Medicare will pay for a bath aide to assist you.
